31 December, 2019 MMSIV’s New Joint Medical Simulation Instructional Methods (JMedSIM) portal

TATRC’s Medical Modeling Simulation, Informatics and Visualization (MMSIV) team recently completed the development of the new Joint Medical Simulation Instructional Methods (JMedSIM) portal. The portal, developed in consultation with the Defense Health Agency (DHA) J7, will provide knowledge, skills and confidence while using simulators for simulation training scenarios. Sites identified that they needed a way to consistently and continuously train new personnel on a variety of simulators and training practices, because in this environment of cost constraints, a means of training without the cost of TDY has become essential.

31 December, 2019 New Project Officer to Join TATRC’s Medical Modeling and Simulation Team

Ms. Deborah “Debbie” Locke is the newest addition to join the TATRC team. She will be supporting and assisting the Medical Modeling, Simulation and Visualization lab at TATRC headquarters at Ft. Detrick. In the role of Project Officer, she will provide assistance to the PI on various research projects as well as update project records, track deliverables, compile data and information useful for medical research proposal documents and other areas of project planning.

30 September, 2019 MP7: TATRC Participates in Highly Immersive Prolonged-Field Care Training Event

From 16 - 19 July, COL Jeremy Pamplin, TATRC’s Director led Mr. Ron Yeaw, Mobile Health Innovation Center Deputy Lab Manager, and Mr. Jimmy Gaudaen, Project Officer to the North Carolina mountains where they participated in the 7th Mountain Path (MP7) Prolonged Field Care (PFC) Training event with the 4th Battalion/3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) at Ragged Edge Solutions (RES) Training Center in Tarboro, NC.

28 June, 2019 TATRC Hosts Prolonged Field Care Demonstration with Madigan Partners

On 21 May, TATRC had the pleasure of hosting a talented team of individuals from Madigan Army Medical Center’s Telemedical Research for Operational Support (TR4OS), who, along with TATRC Director COL Jeremy Pamplin, carried out a demonstration of telementoring capabilities for prolonged field care (PFC). The 2-day event took place in TATRC’s outdoor simulated field environment.

31 March, 2019 MMSV Lab Collects Key Data in Augmented Reality Forward Surgical Care Capstone Event

In February, TATRC’s Medical Modeling, Simulation and Visualization (MMSV) lab hit the road and traveled down to Fort Bragg to take part in a Capstone event for the Augmented Reality Forward Surgical Care project, funded through the AMEDD Advanced Medical Technology Initiative’s Extended Innovation Funding. This project, which was done in collaborative partnership with the U.S. Army Special Operations Command’s Womack Army Medical Center and vendor, BioMojo, aimed to integrate augmented reality headwear into prolonged field care.

31 March, 2019 Team TATRC Among the Largest Crowd Yet to Gather at the IMSH Conference!

It was a big week for Team TATRC in late January as they traveled to San Antonio, TX to participate in the International Meeting for Simulation in Healthcare (IMSH). The theme for the 2019 IMSH Conference was “Redefining & Redesigning Healthcare Powered by Simulation,” and the Society for Simulation in Healthcare‘s (SSH) annual event set an attendance record with over 3,000 participants and 800 vendors in the Exhibit Hall, with TATRC being one of them in the Government Row section.
